Bologna Foodie Walking Tour
Overview
This 6-hour itinerary is designed for food lovers who want to indulge in the culinary icons of Emilia-Romagna while also appreciating the beauty of Bologna’s history.
Imagine this tour as a long lunch divided into several enjoyable stops. We’ll begin by savoring a local pastry before discovering the fascinating process of making Balsamic Vinegar, complete with samples to taste. Since Bologna is known as the capital of filled pasta, we’ll visit one of the oldest gastronomy shops in town to enjoy tagliatelle and tortellini. Next, we’ll try some tigelle, an underrated street food in Italy, paired with iconic Mortadella and a selection of cured meats. We will conclude our food tour with some delicious gelato—among the best you’ll ever taste.
However, this tour isn’t just about food; we’ll also explore iconic sights in Emilia-Romagna, such as Piazza Maggiore and the Neptune sculpture, along with hidden gems like “Little Venice” and the Archiginnasio, the first university in Italy.
Please note that this is a walking tour covering approximately 3.5 km (5.6 miles), so it’s recommended to wear comfortable shoes. This tour is also suitable for families with children.
